The inspiration of this project sparked from ancient practices from all over the world with the five elements. These include earth, water, air fire, and ether and represent the basis of all creation. The human body is born from these elements and upon death is reduced back to these same five elements. All of the elements around us are the same ones inside all of us. The vision for this project comes from the aspiration of being the best wellness resort in the GTA which uses ancient techniques to connect to the mind, body, and soul. With 14 rooms and suites, 150 person banquet hall, a restaurant, fully functioning spa, making this the ultimate relaxation retreat.

  • Each of the five elements corresponds to respective experiences
    • Earth: Nourishment- visual experience (identity, colors, textures, print application, digital application)
    • Water: Flow
    • Fire: Energy/Radiance
    • Air: Movement- spatial experience (environment, exterior vs. interior, furniture, accessories)
    • Ether: Sense of Space- service experience (accommodation, F&B services, mental wellness, and physical fitness, retail, spa packages)
  • All of these elements are incorporated into the branding of the project through the use of warm colors (brown, amber, ochre, gray, burnt sienna, tan, moss green) in the logo
  • The exterior design follows a traditional approach with an appearance of a log cabin. The large wooden truss at the entrance forms a strong emphasis on the double entrance doors and the traditional pitched gable roof.
  • Materials including castle cut stone and the unfinished, raw, and rustic wooden siding are used throughout the exterior façade along with the road signage. These materials maintain a sense of tradition, comfort, and security. The raw unfinished texture allows one to relate to the “Earth” element and be up close with nature itself.
  • The interior of the building also carried the language and maintains the concepts of comfort with warm natural wood tones, natural stones, and other materials with a wide range of textures and patterns.
  • The use of custom furniture elements combined with neutral wall coverings and fabrics make the perfect cozy interior environment for the visitors to enjoy

  • Custom flooring ranging including glazed Spanish tiles, large format porcelain tiles, hardwood flooring, and custom circular floor tile patterns used to highlight the main entrance.
  • Artwork with neutral colors influenced by nature and landscapes
  • The indoor spa is a comforting yet luxurious environment through the use of accent glass tiles, sleek wall sconces, neutral wall coverings, and an accent stone wall and featuring lounge and pedicure chairs
  • The facility also includes a large restaurant for the visitors which showcases the accent floor tiles that divide the space into different zones.
  • Guest rooms use a similar concept to create warm cozy and homely vibes for the visitors. This is achieved through the use of neutral earth colors, stone, and wooden elements throughout the design. This makes for a comfortable yet modern atmosphere for the visitors
  • A large outdoor hot tub with a natural wooden deck creates a connection between the individual and the outdoors.
