SCOPE

Incredible India takes its cue from the tagline of tourism promotion in India. As a small restaurant in a strip mall in Brampton, Canada, this space had to be emphatic and identifiable, as well as firmly and boldly Indian. The Branding and Design brief was to be unabashedly nostalgic but also appeal to a global audience.

ELEMENTS OF DESIGN

  • The look and feel of wood is applied to the ceiling as well as to the floor
  • The Hindu motif of a Lotus flower is used in the logo and to create depth in wall paneling at the entrance.
  • A warm palette complements rustic materials like patterned tiles, espresso wood, thick rope, and red suede.

FEATURES

  • A full-scale graphic view of the Taj Mahal brings the most recognizable icon of ancient India to the compact yet uncluttered seating area.
